Three men, Keith Horan (36), Shane Nolan (28) and David Walsh (31), were charged with two separate arson offences each in connection with an attack on a terraced house at Pinewood Estate, Killarney, and a Nissan Qashqai at Ballinalouth, Tralee, both on 13 May 2026. A woman and her 20-year-old daughter were asleep in the house when it was set alight at 5.05am. Gardaí allege the attack was in retaliation for a similar arson 24 hours earlier in a feud between two Traveller families based in Kerry and Limerick. All three men appeared before Cork District Court on 18 May 2026 and were remanded in custody.

Damien Connolly Prouse, 28, of Ballivor, Co Meath, was remanded in custody at Naas District Court on 5 February 2025 after being charged with four counts of assault, two counts of criminal damage and one of burglary. He is accused of a serious assault at St Patrick's Pontifical University in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, on 3 February 2025 at approximately 6:50pm, in which four men were injured, including a man in his 50s who was hospitalised with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The judge noted the accused is a diagnosed schizophrenic receiving treatment at an HSE psychiatric unit and ordered a full medical assessment. He was remanded to the medical wing of Cloverhill Prison in Dublin.
