Garda Keith Harrison, a man stationed at Milford Garda Station in Donegal, was suspended from duty in March 2021 over an alleged inappropriate relationship with a woman he had dealt with while investigating her report of domestic abuse in 2019. In March 2024 he began a High Court challenge to the ongoing suspension, and Ms Justice Niamh Hyland granted him permission to bring it ex parte. Garda Commissioner Drew Harris opposed the challenge. The High Court dismissed the challenge and found the suspension lawful, as reported on 29 May 2025.

Keith Harrison, a garda, made allegations against An Garda Síochána, the social work system and individual gardaí and social workers at the Disclosures Tribunal, alongside his then partner Marisa Simms. The Tribunal found all of Harrison's allegations to be substantially unfounded and rejected his application for full legal costs. He appealed the costs decision to the High Court and lost, then appealed again to the Court of Appeal. In November 2022, the Court of Appeal dismissed all 34 grounds of appeal and ordered Harrison to pay costs for the Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings.
