• Appeal dismissed for man sentenced to life over Dublin murder Murder · Co. Dublin

Vesel Jahiri, a 43-year-old man, stabbed Anna Finnegan, a 25-year-old woman, to death in her home at Allendale Glen, Clonsilla, Dublin 15, on 21 September 2012. He was also found guilty of stabbing Karl Finnegan, a man, in the chest and head during the same attack. Jahiri was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 after a Central Criminal Court jury found him guilty at his second trial, following a hung jury in 2014. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal in February 2024, finding his submissions incoherent, and he indicated he would take the matter to the Supreme Court.
