  Kamil Piech, a 34-year-old man, has been charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a woman, his ex-partner. The incident took place at about 5pm on Saturday 28 February 2026 at 9 Palace Drive, Aardnacassa, Longford, where the woman alleges he placed his hands tightly around her neck while shouting that he would kill her. Gardaí observed marks on her neck, arrested him, and detained him for questioning at the station. At Longford District Court, reported on 30 June 2026, Judge Vincent Deane refused jurisdiction, so the case will go to the Circuit Court. The latest development is that he was remanded on continuing bail until 7 July 2026 for a Book of Evidence.
