  On 30 July 2021, a vehicle driven by Kamil Panek, a man, overtook four other vehicles on a single white line on an upward incline on the road from Callan to Kilkenny, forcing other motorists to take evasive action. A second motorist who witnessed the overtaking contacted the garda station. Panek was convicted of careless driving at Kilkenny District Court, where Judge Geraldine Carthy said she would not have accepted the lesser charge in place of dangerous driving. He was fined €1,000 and disqualified from driving for six months.
