A 19-year-old female care assistant at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin reported unwanted touching by a male porter in his 30s on 3 May 2022, and an independent investigation upheld the complaint on the balance of probabilities. The porter, whose name is protected by a WRC reporting restriction, received a final written warning and stayed on staff in general duties with restrictions. The victim, Kaitlyn Winston, took sick leave in February 2023, quit after a failed return-to-work meeting on 30 March 2023, and in July 2024 brought complaints of constructive dismissal and gender discrimination at the WRC. In a decision published on 18 March 2025 the WRC rejected both complaints, and her solicitor Barry Crushell confirmed she will appeal.
