  • Man killed by falling tree in Donegal under investigation Death (accident – falling tree during storm) · Co. Donegal

Kacper Dudek, a 20-year-old Polish-born man raised in the Lifford area, was killed at around 5:30am on 24 January 2025 when a tree uprooted by Storm Eowyn fell on his car at Feddyglass, near Raphoe, Co Donegal. He had been driving home in a two-car convoy with a co-worker after an early finish from a night shift and was making a U-turn to avoid a road blockage when the tree struck. A forensic collision investigator and divisional scenes of crime commenced an investigation at the scene, and the N14 road remained closed. The death was the first confirmed fatality in Ireland as a result of Storm Eowyn.
