  Justin Greene, aged 52, of Johnstown Way, Enfield, Co Meath, had six graphic sexual images of teenage girls aged 12 to 15 found on his phone after gardaí seized it at his home in May 2022. The case began when US authorities alerted the Garda Child Exploitation Unit, which informed local gardaí, and Greene co-operated when they called to his house. He pleaded guilty and was convicted on 6 October 2023 before Judge John Martin at Trim Circuit Criminal Court, and at a sentencing hearing on 6 March 2024 he received 18 months with the final six months suspended and was ordered onto the sex offenders' register. Reports published on 1 and 2 May 2024 said RTÉ, where he had worked as a studio director, stated that he resigned in March without a stated reason and had hidden the arrest, charge, conviction and sentence from it.
