  Julie Mongans (28) of Old Clarehill, Clarecastle, Co Clare, made a courtroom outburst at Ennis District Court, calling victims of a firebombing attack on their home 'rats' and running at them after the sentencing of her brother, Martin Mongans, who was sentenced in March for the 2021 attack. She pleaded guilty to a public order charge arising from the outburst. On 27 June 2023 Judge Alec Gabbett jailed her for seven days and refused to suspend the term. She has appealed to Ennis Circuit Court and remains free pending that hearing.
