latest first- Jury to consider verdict in Limerick car theft and deception trial Theft · Co. Limerick
Paul Curtin, 46, of Cappamore, County Limerick, is on trial at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court for allegedly cutting through a steel gate at John Moloney Motors on Ballysimon Road, Limerick, on 20 December 2019 and taking 10 vehicles to be scrapped for €960. The business was owned by John Moloney, a man in his 70s who died in November 2020, and his wife Judy Moloney. Curtin was arrested by arrangement and interviewed in March 2020, and pleaded not guilty to 12 offences including 10 counts of theft, one count of criminal damage, and one count of obtaining money by deception. A first jury was discharged after a juror recognised a person supporting the accused, and a new jury of six women and six men is now expected to retire to consider a verdict.
