Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a Brazilian woman in her 30s, was found dead with stab wounds in her apartment at Carlton House, Lower Cecil Street, Limerick City, on the morning of Friday 21 August 2026 after colleagues raised the alarm when she did not attend work. Her husband Judismar Weslei Batista, a Brazilian man in his 30s, was identified as the chief suspect and was found dead near Blackrock Castle, County Cork, at around 7pm the same evening in a suspected suicide. Gardaí launched a murder investigation, with a post-mortem confirming a violent death, and are treating the case as a murder-suicide. The couple had been married for over a decade and their relationship had broken down in recent weeks. The victim's remains were repatriated to Sorocaba, São Paulo, where she was buried in early September 2026.
