Joshua Dalton, a 35-year-old man of Bridgend, Buncrana, County Donegal, had €25 worth of cannabis in his possession when he was stopped by Garda Paul Shevlin at Ludden, Buncrana, on Wednesday, 6 November 2024. In July 2025 he admitted a charge of possession of drugs under Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act at Buncrana District Court. The judge directed him to donate €100 to St Vincent de Paul charity shop and said the matter would be struck out if he produced a receipt, and the case was adjourned to 22 July to give him time to pay. The case is therefore awaiting proof of the donation at the adjourned hearing on 22 July.
