latest first- Inquest adjourned in Drimnagh fatal shooting investigation Murder (fatal shooting) · Co. Dublin
Josh Itseli, an Irish man aged 20, was shot dead while sitting in a vehicle on Knocknarea Road in Drimnagh, Dublin 12, at approximately 12:15am on 6 May 2024, following a collision between a Mercedes and a Volkswagen. Three men, two in their 20s and one a teenager, were arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and released without charge, and an AR-15 rifle and a pipe bomb were recovered near the scene. Gardaí are investigating whether Itseli was accidentally shot by one of his own associates during an ambush, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. An inquest was adjourned in February 2025, and four further people were arrested and released without charge in May 2025 as the investigation continues.
