Josh Fitzpatrick, a 26-year-old man with an address at Forgney, Moyvore, Co Westmeath, was arrested as a passenger during a suspected drugs seizure and handed over his mobile phone in Garda custody. The phone allegedly contained sexual abuse images and videos of children, including a nine-month-old baby, and the offence date given is 10 February 2023. He was charged with possessing 98 images and 55 videos of downloaded child pornography, pleaded guilty at Mullingar Circuit Criminal Court, and was remanded in custody on 8 July. On 23 January 2026 it was reported that Judge Keenan Johnson had imposed a two-year sentence with the final 12 months suspended for five years, backdated to 8 July.
