Joseph McGinty, then 14, sneaked into his cousin Louise McMenamin's room during a sleepover at her home in Ballyshannon, Donegal, and touched her on the bottom beneath her nightdress and her breast area on an unknown date between June 1 and September 1, 2012. The 10-year-old girl told her father, after which a complaint was made. McGinty, now 27, pleaded not guilty but was found guilty by a jury after a three-day trial at Donegal Circuit Court.
