Joseph Fergal Crowe, a 36-year-old man from Killina, Robertstown, Kildare, was stopped at Dublin Road, Edenderry on 6 November 2021 while driving. He had a hands-free mobile kit in his vehicle and was handing the phone to one of his children so they could speak to their mother, who was at hospital with another child. A plea of guilty to holding a mobile phone while driving was entered on his behalf by his solicitor at Tullamore District Court. Judge Patricia Cronin fined him €120. He had no previous convictions.
