Five men, including Jordan Curtis, 21, a man, and four men, were charged with money laundering offences under Section 7 of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act in relation to transactions alleged to have occurred over two days in December 2019. The charges include ATM withdrawals, bank card use, and credits to An Post, KBC, and Bank of Ireland accounts. The five men appeared before Galway District Court in May 2022, where Garda Jason Kelly confirmed all had been served with books of evidence. The DPP consented to the men being sent for trial at the next sitting of Galway Circuit Court starting in June, and all five were remanded on bail with free legal aid awarded.
