latest first- Man sentenced to 14 years for manslaughter in Skibbereen Manslaughter · Co. Cork
Jonathan Ustic, a 51-year-old British man from Cornwall, was found dead at a rented house on High Street, Skibbereen, Co Cork, between 24 and 25 September 2017 after being assaulted with a sofa and a broken bottle. Andrew Nash, 43, of Parnell Street, Thurles, Co Tipperary, who was the son of Ustic's late partner, was arrested in November 2017 after fleeing to the UK and charged with murder in April 2022. At his trial at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork in July 2023, Nash pleaded guilty to manslaughter after two days of evidence. He was sentenced to 14 years with the final year suspended on 21 July 2023. Thomas Fitchett, 34, who drove Nash from the scene, received a two-year suspended sentence for impeding the investigation in March 2022.
