John Lawrence, a 30-year-old man whose address was given as Apartment 271 Clayton Hotel, Liffey Valley, Dublin, was prosecuted over the alleged theft of clothing from Sports Direct at Carton Retail Park, Maynooth, County Kildare, on 30 November 2019. The clothing, valued at €410, was not recovered, and the court heard he left the store without making any effort to pay. John Lawrence, 28, and Martin Lawrence, 22, two men, are alleged to have been involved in a theft and assault at Costcutters on Monread Avenue, Naas, County Kildare, on 24 December, with sources giving the year as either 2019 or 2021. Gardaí claim Martin Lawrence left without paying for a €50 Pinergy voucher, a struggle followed in which a shop employee was punched, and the pair then ran to a vehicle, retrieved a hatchet, and intimidated the shop owner.
