John Comerford of Barry's Cross, Coon, Co Kilkenny, was charged with breaking windows in eight commercial premises in a criminal damage spree in Kilkenny City. On 15 September 2023, a woman was the last customer in a nail salon on John Street, Kilkenny, when Comerford sat next to her and made comments of a lewd nature, and staff then asked him to leave. It was alleged that he told her he would rape her when she left, and he was later charged with a burglary at a Kilkenny hotel on 16 February 2024 and with 10 offences committed on 3 September 2024.
