Between May 11 and December 16, 2022, John Coady, a 32-year-old man from Kilkenny, harassed a woman living in the Clara area of Offaly, including at Clonshanny Hill, Clara. In October 2023 at Tullamore District Court he pleaded guilty to harassing her, the case was adjourned, and he paid her €5,000 at a court appearance. In April 2024 he was back in court over alleged breaches of bail, which the judge said remain allegations not proved, and his bail was revoked, new bail was set and a five-year restraining order was made. No sentence has been imposed, and the judge said he was considering a custodial sentence and compensation.
