On 26 August 2025, Joey Morgan, a 41- or 42-year-old convicted burglar with 78 previous convictions, was shot in the arm outside a takeaway near Corduff Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, in what gardaí believe was a planned attack. The victim and a close associate were chased by the gunman, and Morgan fled into a house in the area before being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Three people were arrested during searches in Blanchardstown in September 2025, and a further two individuals, a man in his early 20s and a woman in her 50s, were arrested in an operation in September 2026. The man has been charged with attempted murder and was denied High Court bail in September 2026.
