    On 2 October 2022, Joe Torris, a man aged 57, was killed when his motorcycle was struck by the driver's door of a car on the R132 at Priestown, Dunleer, County Louth. Paul Lyons, an 80-year-old man from Dundalk, was driving the car and had begun a U-turn on a continuous white line. Lyons admitted at Dundalk Circuit Court in May 2024 to driving without due care and attention causing the death of Torris. Sentencing was adjourned for three weeks.
