    Joanne Davies, 50, was struck by a Healy Rae plant hire truck while walking across a zebra crossing at Ardnannweely, Killarney, on 17 July 2020. The driver, Seán Tangney, 71, was acquitted of careless driving causing her death at Tralee Circuit Criminal Court in June 2024. Healy Rae Plant Hire accepted liability in seven High Court cases brought by her children. In January 2025, the High Court in Cork awarded the family €850,000 in damages.
