  Jimmy Cumiskey, a 63-year-old man from Jenkinstown, Dundalk, is accused of receiving almost €64,000 from four clients who believed he would secure a mortgage for them while operating without a licence between March 2018 and March 2020. He originally faced 21 counts of theft and fraud at Dundalk District Court in November 2021, was returned for trial at Dundalk Circuit Court in March 2022, and later pleaded guilty to seven sample counts. In November 2024, Judge Dara Hayes at Dundalk Circuit Court sentenced him to 18 months in prison under a global sentence of three and a half years with the final two years suspended, and ordered €70,000 to be paid to the injured parties.
