  A two-vehicle collision occurred at Meenaward near Buncrana on the Mountain Road (R244) in County Donegal at approximately 10.50pm; the incident date is recorded as 1 May 2022, while the articles describe it as Monday night (2 May 2022). Jim Kenny, a 42-year-old man and father of two from Malin Head who worked with HML Transport, was pronounced dead at the scene in his black Skoda Octavia. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, an Opel Meriva, were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where the passenger, a woman in her 30s, was described as being in serious condition and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. A post mortem was carried out at Letterkenny University Hospital, and the Mountain Road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí in Buncrana are appealing for witnesses and camera footage of the incident.
