latest first- Under investigation for money laundering, Flynn seeks to quash Dublin search warrant Money laundering (alleged) · Co. Dublin
A Garda investigation into alleged money laundering in Dublin arose from a bank's refusal to exchange €4,400 in damaged banknotes that a long-standing client of solicitor James Flynn had submitted as a fee payment in 2019. A search warrant was issued by the District Court on 3 March 2022, and Flynn's offices were searched and his mobile phone seized. He was arrested on 4 March 2022 and questioned for two days by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau before being released on 5 March 2022 with a report pending to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Flynn and his firm JT Flynn and Co Solicitors lodged judicial review proceedings on 30 March 2022 to quash the search warrant, and the matter was adjourned by Mr Justice Charles Meenan to a date after Easter.
