Jenny Strong, a 73-year-old woman from Hebron Park, Kilkenny, was the subject of a search at a Hebron Park property on February 25, 2022, where about €60 worth of cannabis was handed over. On August 6, 2023, gardaí received a report that she had left a Lidl store in Kilkenny with a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka worth €50.60 without paying. She pleaded guilty to theft and to having drugs in her possession for personal use. On October 27, 2023, Judge Geraldine Carthy at Kilkenny Courthouse imposed an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 24 months, directed her to engage with the Probation Services, ordered €50 compensation to the supermarket, and fined her €200 for the drugs offence.
