  • Assault and endangerment case adjourned to circuit court in Kilkee Assault causing harm; endangerment · Co. Clare

On 22 October 2023, it is alleged that Ava Moloney, 21, held Sophie Ryan's arm through the open window of a moving car and pulled her head in by her hair while Jeffrey Ryan, 24, drove along the Diamond Rocks Cafe car park in Kilkee, Co Clare. Both were charged with assaulting Sophie Ryan causing harm and with endangerment, and Ryan also faces a dangerous driving charge. At Kilrush District Court in May 2024, the judge declined jurisdiction, noting the woman could have been killed had she gone under the wheels of the car. The case was adjourned to 10 September 2024 for the circuit court.
