    On 27 December 2022 at Lisbunny, Nenagh, a garda stopped Jeffrey Morrissey (33), a Thurles man, to offer him a lift to a safer place. The garda searched him and found six Xanax tablets for which he had no prescription. Morrissey pleaded guilty to possession of controlled drugs under Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977, and on 29 July 2024 Nenagh District Court fined him €200 with nine months to pay, with the judge saying he would need to continue his treatment.
