A fatal collision involving two cars and a lorry occurred at approximately 6:15pm on 27 October 2022 on the N2 at Mullaghanee, Castleblayney, County Monaghan. Ronnie and Jean Hollinger, both non-Irish and in their 60s, were pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in her 60s, a passenger in the second car, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda with critical injuries. The road was closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage from the N2 at Castleblayney between 6:05pm and 6:30pm.
