In August 2020, a Garda investigation began after Jean Duggan, 78, reported her belief that her signature had been forged on documents relating to a right of way near her home in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. The forged statutory declaration and death certificate were connected to a proposed 2014 sale of land to a pension fund belonging to Richard Roche. Following an eight-day trial at Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court in February 2024, Conor Clarkson, 60, was found guilty of four charges of creating and using forged documents and acquitted of four other counts.
