Jason Goddard, 36, and Ryan Thompson, 21, were involved in a violent altercation with a man on Finglas Road, Finglas, on 16 October 2018 after the man had threatened Goddard's son. Goddard pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, and Judge Elma Sheahan placed him on a 12-month probation bond before adjourning the matter. On 22 February 2022, Goddard was discharged from the indictment under Section 1.2 of the Probation Act on condition he keep the peace and be of good behaviour for 12 months. Co-accused Thompson, who received slash marks to his neck and cheek during the incident, was also previously discharged under the Probation Act.
