  Two garda vehicles, one marked and one unmarked, were set on fire at Dundalk Garda Station in Louth at around 2:30am on 18 August 2021, causing over €24,000 in damage with no injuries reported. Jason Corr, a 34-year-old man originally from Drogheda who was homeless at the time, was arrested the same afternoon and ultimately charged with one count of arson. The case was remanded through Dundalk District Court and sent to the Circuit Court in November 2021, where a psychiatric assessment was directed in January 2022. In May 2024, Corr was sentenced at Dundalk Circuit Court to four and a half years in prison, with the final 12 months of a five and a half year sentence suspended.
