On 6 May 2019, a 60-year-old taxi driver was robbed and assaulted at Rutland Grove, Crumlin, Dublin, after picking up two men and two women in the city centre. Peter Collins, 26, wrapped a phone charger cable around the driver's neck, and Jason Collins, 18, punched him and searched his pockets, while Nikkita Brogan, 24, a Donegal woman, released the seatbelt and reattached the gear stick knob. The Collins brothers were sentenced in December 2019 for robbery, assault causing harm, and unlawful seizure of a car. Brogan, who had 76 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to unlawful seizure of a vehicle and was sentenced in December 2021 to 32 months' imprisonment with the final 12 months suspended.
