Janderson Alves Dos Santos, a 22-year-old man from Cashel, was stopped by Garda Felim Canty in a Volkswagen Polo at Moore Lane, Cashel, on 29 August 2020, and produced a fraudulent Portuguese driving licence he had purchased for €350. He also failed to produce insurance cover on the same occasion. He pleaded guilty at Cashel District Court to fraudulent use of a driving licence and driving without insurance. In September 2021 he was sentenced to a two-year driving ban, a €400 fine and an endorsement for the licence offence, and a two-year driving ban, a €200 fine and an endorsement for driving without insurance.
