Jamie Long (26), of Thomond Student Village, Ballygrennan, Limerick, was arrested on Wednesday 25 February 2026 after gardaí seized about €1.54 million worth of suspected cocaine and cannabis in Limerick city during Operation Tara. Gardaí said he was in the front seat of a white Ford Transit van at Kilbranish Drive, Woodview, containing suspected cocaine valued at €70,000. He was charged with three counts of possession of drugs for sale or supply and three counts of possession of drugs for his own use. At a special weekend sitting of Limerick District Court on 28 February 2026, Judge Patricia Ryan refused him bail, and he was remanded in custody to appear by video-link on 3 March 2026.
