Jamie Corrigan, 30, of Ranelagh, Dublin, is accused of forging PCR test certificates during the Covid-19 lockdown so that he and eight friends or family could travel around Europe. The alleged use of a false certificate took place at Dublin Airport Terminal One on 11 July 2021, after he arrived from Spain, and the GNIB investigation began that month. He has been charged with two counts of using false PCR test certification and with forgery, which are allegations. On 13 October 2023 Dublin District Court heard the case, Judge Nicola Jane Andrews refused jurisdiction, and the case was sent towards the Circuit Court. The latest development is that he was remanded on continuing bail to appear on 24 November to be served with a book of evidence, and he has still to enter a plea.
