  On June 29, 2025, Zahara Hassin, a 48-year-old woman from Kenya, chased her neighbour James Nolan with a sweeping brush and shouted abusive language at him at Hollybank Lawn in Kilkenny. The dispute began when Ms Hassin told the neighbour to get off her property, meaning the path. Garda David Bourke attended the scene and took statements from the Nolans and other witnesses. Ms Hassin fully contested the charge but was convicted of using threatening, abusive and insulting language by Judge Geraldine Carthy at Kilkenny District Court and fined €500.

  At about 12.30am on 25 July 2023, a man in his 30s from New York, a US tourist, was attacked on Crow Street in Temple Bar, Dublin, in a robbery a court heard was premeditated and carried out by a gang after a woman befriended him to distract him. Two co-defendants, a man and a woman, were charged earlier and remain in custody on remand. James Nolan, 35, from Tallaght, was charged with robbery of the tourist and, as the third person charged, was denied bail at Dublin District Court on 3 August 2023. He was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on 9 August 2023.
