    James Mulcaire, 19, of Abbeycourt Estate, Rathkeale, was verbally abusive to garda sergeant Barry Manton and threatened to knock him out on 3 December 2021. Mulcaire pleaded guilty at Newcastle West Court to engaging in threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour. Judge Coolican convicted him and imposed a €250 fine. A separate charge of driving without reasonable consideration near Glin in November 2021 was struck out.
