James Griffin, 26, a man, was stabbed to death at the Celtic Gladiators Private Members Club in Ballyfermot, Dublin, in the early hours of Sunday, November 16, 2014. Two unidentified men assaulted Griffin and another man with knives after an argument broke out just before 4am, then fled in a taxi towards Cherry Orchard. Griffin received ten stab wounds and was pronounced dead at 5:25am at Tallaght University Hospital. The investigation was unable to identify those involved, and the case remained open but was no longer under active investigation. A jury at Dublin Coroners Court returned a verdict of unlawful death by a person or persons unknown in August 2022.
