  James Devine, a 66-year-old man and father of four from Drumucklagh, Raphoe, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Main Street, Clonmany, Co Donegal, in the early hours of Sunday 12 May 2024, and died at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin on 15 May 2024. Kevin Grant, a 38-year-old man from Buncrana, was arrested and initially charged with eight offences including dangerous driving, before being charged with manslaughter in December 2024. Grant pleaded guilty to manslaughter and three road traffic charges before Judge John Aylmer at Letterkenny Circuit Court on 28 October 2025. Sentencing was adjourned to the February 2026 sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court pending a probation report.
