  On 3 October 2022 at around 6pm, 13-year-old boy Jack Duggan was struck by a car while walking on Blarney Street in Gurranabraher, Cork, and was knocked into the air, landing on his head. The driver, a blonde woman in a silver car of unknown make, briefly stopped, removed her seat belt, but continued driving without getting out. Jack sustained a massive haematoma on his forehead and required emergency surgery at Cork University Hospital on 20 October 2022. Gardaí appealed for witnesses in early November 2022, and a woman subsequently presented herself to gardaí to give a statement. A file is to be prepared for the DPP.
