Two Brazilian women, Natalia Nogueira Da Silva (32) and Ivanilce (Lisa) Vailones Fidelis (46), are accused of trafficking two vulnerable Brazilian women for exploitation in prostitution across rural Ireland. The complainants were allegedly moved between towns including Portarlington, Enniscorthy, Tralee, Cashel and Thurles, and one testified she had to take part in sexual relations with one of the accused and her husband. Da Silva admitted 35 charges including organising prostitution, facilitating the entry of an illegal person, and 33 counts of money laundering, while denying one count of human trafficking; Vailones Fidelis denied all 18 charges. The trial opened at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court before Judge Patricia Ryan in late January 2023 and was set down for six weeks. The trial collapsed on its tenth day on 8 February 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances and is expected to begin again before a new jury later that month.

Two Brazilian women were allegedly trafficked to work as prostitutes in rural Ireland, moved weekly between towns including Portarlington, Thurles, Tralee, Enniscorthy and Roscommon, and controlled via phone and WhatsApp messages. The first complainant, a 35-year-old woman from Salvador, Brazil, gave evidence via video-link at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court trial of Natalia Nogueira Da Silva, 32, of Drumlish, Co Longford, and Ivanilce (Lisa) Vailones Fidelis, 46, of Roscommon. Da Silva admitted 35 charges including organising prostitution and money laundering while denying one count of human trafficking, and Vailones Fidelis denied all 18 charges. The trial, which opened in January 2023 before Judge Patricia Ryan, collapsed on day ten on 8 February 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances and was adjourned for a new trial before a new jury.
