Ismail Tamar, 41, a man from Afghanistan, was charged with assault causing harm to his neighbour Mouro Di Dio after an alleged row over loud snoring in their neighbouring flats on South Circular Road, Dublin. A garda alleged Tamar attempted to strike Di Dio with a wooden stick, causing ligament damage to one hand, and also took one of Di Dio's shoes. Tamar appeared before Judge Monika Leech at Dublin District Court on 11 October 2024, where he was refused bail and remanded in custody pending DPP directions on whether the case stays in the District Court or goes to the Circuit Court.
