• Twin brothers jailed for manslaughter in Tallaght Manslaughter · Co. Dublin

Eric and Sean Farrell, twin brothers aged 19 at the time, were sentenced to six years in prison for the manslaughter of Ionel Nicolae Diaconu, a 45-year-old Romanian construction worker, at a house in Castle Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24, on 11 December 2023. Diaconu was stabbed eight times and struck with a blunt object during a dispute relating to the twins' mother. Eric Farrell was arrested at the scene that night and Sean Farrell was arrested the following day; both were charged with murder in November 2024 before pleading guilty to manslaughter in May 2026. The Central Criminal Court sentenced them on 15 June 2026, with the final 18 months of a seven-year-and-six-month headline sentence suspended on a lifetime bond.
