  • Dundalk man convicted of breaching Covid regulations Breach of public health regulations (Covid-19) · Co. Louth

Three people were accused of breaching Covid public health regulations at a gathering at St Brigid's Shrine in Upper Faughart, Dundalk, on 31 January 2021 during lockdown. Fergal Sheehy, 42, of Dundalk, Patrick Brocklebank, 65, of Dun Laoghaire, and Holly Casey, 26, of Lucan were charged with failing to state their name and address and contravening a penal provision under the Health Act. Casey's case was struck out in November 2021 after the second charge was withdrawn. In March 2022, Sheehy was convicted in his absence and fined €200, while Brocklebank's case was struck out because the investigating garda was on sick leave.
