  • Cork man sentenced for indecent assault of sister-in-law as a child Indecent assault (three counts) · Co. Cork

    Kenneth Reilly (63) was found guilty by a jury in October 2022 of three counts of indecently assaulting his sister-in-law, Helene Hallisey Power, at his home in Co Cork between 1982 and 1985, when she was aged 12 to 16. The abuse came to light in 2002 when she confided in her husband and brother, and gardaí investigated in 2018. Reilly has been in custody since October 2022. In March 2023 he was sentenced, with the sources differing on whether the sentence was five years or six years with the final year suspended, and the sentence was backdated to when he went into custody.
