  Hamid Musad, a 51-year-old man, and Emma Musad, a 46-year-old woman, reported their Toyota Hilux stolen from their home in Kilmacow, Kilkenny, on December 22, 2018, and an insurance claim of €16,500 was paid out on January 31, 2019. The vehicle was reported recovered on February 26, 2019, and Musad paid €8,000 to the person who recovered it. Following a three-week jury trial at Kilkenny Circuit Court, both were convicted of theft and making a false report. On July 29, 2024, Hamid Musad was jailed for two years and Emma Musad's four-year sentence was suspended in full.
