On 14 July 2022, Gardaí from Bridewell station searched a house in the Evergreen Road area of Cork City at approximately 8.30pm as part of Operation Tara, seizing €210,000 worth of cocaine, €10,000 worth of cannabis, an imitation firearm and €3,100 in cash. Greg Ahern, a 36-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He was charged with four drug offences and appeared before a special sitting of Cork District Court on 16 July 2022, where he was remanded on bail with conditions. He is due to appear at Cork District Court on 19 October 2022.
